Each year the City's budgeting process begins in late summer. City Council workshops are held throughout the fall with a preliminary budget and levy being established by September 30 for each year, and the final levy is certified by the City Council in December.
A presentation and public hearing are held at the December City Council meeting. Public input is welcome at the meeting. Anyone having questions, comments or concerns is urged to attend this meeting.
The City of Little Canada utilizes a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to schedule proposed public improvements and purchases over a ten-year period. Significant purchases and improvements beyond five years are included when the project and costs have been identified. The Plan matches proposed expenditures and revenues by projects.
Each year, the City of Little Canada issues an Annual Financial Report that provides a wealth of information about the city's finances. View the city's current financial report (PDF). The file is a large PDF file and may take a few minutes to download, depending on your connection.
If you have comments or questions about the City’s budget or about the information contained on your Proposed Property Tax Notice received from Ramsey County, please feel free to contact the City Administrator at 651-766-4040.
